‘Beauty in Imperfection’

‘Beauty in Imperfection’ is one of the outcomes of London Sinfonietta’s ‘Co-Curate’, a collaborative research project between Kingston University and London Sinfonietta supported by a Creativeworks London Creative Voucher.

Co-Curate (http://www.co-curate.co.uk/) is a digital platform which invites audiences to respond to a range of briefs conceived in collaboration with educational institutions, composers and artists.

New audiences are invited to participate in the making of new work and events by uploading sounds, words, still or moving images through a range of open calls and invitations.

This has been tested and launched through an open submission pilot project, ‘Beauty in Imperfection’ (http://www.co-curate.co.uk/beauty-in-…). The submitted work contributed to the development of a new solo cello piece composed by Samantha Fernando and performed by Oliver Coates which was accompanied by a multi media showcase at The Asylum Chapel in Peckham on 22 June 2015.
